Been WAY too long…

It has been far too long since we posted to this blog, but we’re thankful that it’s here. Much has gone on recently, and there will be many more adventures to come in the next several months.

Short version:
1) We recently moved to San Antonio, Texas.
2) Days later, Marjah was diagnosed with Stage V Lymphoma.
3) Through sheer coincidence, we have been able to find and afford care under the University of Wisconsin treatment protocol within a 20 minute drive. We’ll be done with that in June.
4) Immediately afterward, we’ll be getting Marjah AKC registered and CGC certified so we can volunteer as a therapy dog team. I’ve never trained her, but I have taken her with me everywhere I can for the last several months. She could pass the CGC tomorrow if tested.
5) Recent pictures, because cute Tripawd pictures brighten anyone’s day.

More to follow soon!

  1. YES! CUTE TRIPAWD PICTURES DO BRIGHTEN EVERYONE’S DAY!! Thanks for brightening our day!!

What an uplifting chronicle of a delightful dog…a dog who is living in sync with her soul’s purpose! You clearly will inspire everyone you meet and will leave an eternal footprint on their heart.

Thanks for the update and ADORABLE PICTURES!!!

Keep on keeping on sweet girl! We are all cheering for you!!

    Hugs and love!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

  2. Welcome back! We have missed you. I”m sorry to hear about the cancer but lymphoma is soooo treatable. I know you guys are going to kick its butt! Please keep us posted, we’re sending all our best for a speedy butt-kicking.

Marjah will make a GREAT therapy dawg. That is going to be really neat to follow along with your adventures and see how many more people are touched by you two. What a team!

  3. Wow! Just got caught up on your blog. What a great story! I LOVE Marjah’s harness-Nub Life!

We used to go to the dog park with our first tripawd Codie Rae. There was a Vietnam vet that would also come with his dog some days. He was missing a leg too and every time he saw Codie Rae he just LIT up. So I know Marjah will bring invaluable joy, comfort, and inspawration to wounded warriors as a therapy dog. You guys will rock it!

Looking forward to hearing more of your life together as it unfolds. And sending a little Lucky 13 Oaktown Pack* strength to help Marjah kick that lymphoma to the curb 🙂

    xoxo,
Martha, Codie Rae, and the Oaktown Pack
*We have 3 tripawds and a 4 legger so we have 13 paws in our pack 🙂

  4. Thanks for all the support, y’all. I love all Tripawds, and it is very reassuring and wonderful to know that so many of them out there have oweners/”parents” that have given them good homes or gone through the whole process of finding a “new normal” with them after an amputation.

Codie Rae, you know from those dog park visits how much of a bond automatically happens with Tripawds and human amputees. Check out today’s entry if you haven’t already. And get some, Lucky 13!!!
